25-04-2011 // : Gobble Gobble - Boring Horror

Great party-track by Gobble Gobble (which is a pretty ace name for a band).

22-04-2011 // : Black Light Dinner Party - Older Together

The weekend is coming closer, i can almost taste it and this great 1st track done by 4 producers teaming up is a good way to get into in the mood. Black Light Dinner Party have made a great summer track that's gonna be around for all of the upcoming summer months if you ask me. It's sweet vocals and hypnotizing beats and synths make this a track you cannot sit still too (and so i'm dancing around my kitchen at 8.30 in the morning, hello neighbours :)..

21-04-2011 // : Dry The River - Bible Belt

Another slow and melancholic track today, i don't know why, but so far the week is all about these kind of songs for me. Oh well, Dry The River just wrote a perfect song with 'Bible Belt'. If you like it, definately check out the live version done at Abbey Road Sessions. I'd say they fit in nicely in between Fleet Foxes and Mumford & Sons, but who am i..?

20-04-2011 // Album: Matt Stalker & Fables - The Man Who Said This Died of Alchemy

This was released on April 1st after haven been worked on for 10 years. I'm not sure how they managed to do that, but the result in incredibly beautiful. Matt Stalker is a singer/songwriter that writes beautiful small songs, best enjoyed when you're staring out the window from a moving train or just staring in general, with a nice cup of coffee like i'm doing this morning. Great little record!

19-04-2011 // : Dark Dark Dark - Daydreaming

Just Friday i discovered Dark Dark Dark and although that post contained a link to their website where you can download 'Daydreaming' for free i decided to post this, because it's beautiful. And beautiful music needs to be heard.

18-04-2011 // : Noah and the Whale – Tonight’s the Kind of Night

2nd single of Noah and the Whale's latest album 'Last Night On Earth'. Great catchy tune to end the day with & have yourself some sweet dreams to start another fine day tomorrow..

18-04-2011 // : Wild Beasts - Smother

This was released on Record Store Day last Saturday as a b-side and is not included on the new album by Wild Beasts. One can only guess to why not, but to be honest i cannot think of any reason not to put this in your album. It is painfully beautiful and i am almost constantly looping this over and over again with Julia Stone. Music is a good friend on days like these, and tonight my dear friend Music comforted me this great song.

18-04-2011 // : Julia Stone – Winter On The Weekend

So i missed the Monday Morning Kick-Off this morning due to a huge fucking headache/hangover. Both are long gone now, but my head and heart are in the mood for slow soft and sweet music. Julia Stone writes beautiful music with disturbing lyrics and this is probably the best example for her fine work. Breathtaking!

16-04-2011 // : The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra - Joseph And Iris

Although waking up with Daft Punk was pretty great, despite the early hour. I really got into the weekend-vibe with The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra, this is just a fantastic song. I imagine these 5 guys dancing and singing and playing and having a great time on stage when they play live. And i'm pretty sure anyone in the audience will do the same..

15-04-2011 // : Dark Dark Dark - Wild Go

Dark Dark Dark have just released 'Wild Go', the new singly from their debut album, released earlier this year. It's a dark and dreamy song that would could play non-stop on a rainy day. I'd almost wish today was such a day..

13-04-2011 // : Freelance Whales - Girl You Want

Several months ago i included Enzymes by Freelance Whales in a Sundae special and last Sunday i came across this fantastic song called "Girl You Want", it's a cover of an 80s hit that they're gonna release this Saturday on Record Store Day (since all the 'cool' blogs are constantly hammering on this special day i decided to get into the buzz..). Somewhere i read that they've totally re-done the song, and if so, i don't wanna hear the original. Because this is a dreamy, lovely song now and i want to always hear it like this.

13-04-2011 // EP: Het Droste Effect

Dutch rockband Het Droste Effect has released their debut EP last week and you can download it for free from their website. The music they play is tough and hallucinating. Or, as they describe it themselves: instrumental tracks ranging from repetitive robotrock to calm ambient to psychedelic kraut and space rock, infused with field recordings. Right.. Nevertheless, great way to start this day! If you only have time for 1 track, listen to "Lollita Can Dance"; great rock riffs, nice saxophone.
